Grants to District Organizations
The ACBL Charity Foundation provides $10,000 to ACBL District organizations on a multi-year rotational basis for allocation to a qualified non-bridge related 501(c)3 organization(s) of choice.
Beginning in 2023, funding to each District organization was reduced from $30,000 to $10,000 due to a decline in ACBL membership fueled by the COVID-19 pandemic. The rotation has also changed from a four-year rotation to a two-year rotation, decreasing the wait time for Districts to receive funding.
The first rotation includes funding to 10 Districts (D3, D4, D5, D6, D7, D12, D13, D14, D24 and D25) in Regions 2-6. Beginning in 2024, the second rotation includes funding to 13 Districts (D8, D9, D10, D11, D15, D16, D17, D18, D19, D20, D21, D22 and D23) in Regions 7-13.
Region 1 (D1 and D2) receive charity funds from the Canadian Bridge Federation and are not included in the rotation. Region 13 (D18 and D19) share one grant because its membership is split between Canada and the U.S.
